AI Coalition Launch

We're announcing the formation of a statewide coalition to advocate for equitable, human-centered application of AI technology in schools. Building on our organizational entry into the AI policy space in order to combat algorithmic bias that can deny opportunity to communities of color, we are launching a coalition of nuanced educational policy thinkers that will offer a counterpoint to the extremes calling for outright bans or full deregulation. We hope to protect students while providing access to cutting edge learning for all children in Illinois - not just privileged, well-funded districts that can afford to explore the technology on its own. Funding will enable us to better promote the event and build initial coalition infrastructure in advance to add credibility to the launch.
